LNP Officers Sit Forensic Training in Nimba County

first_imgOfficers of the Liberia National Police assigned in Nimba County have recently sat a three-day intensive forensic training in Sanniquellie, Nimba County as a means of adequately preparing them carry on forensic investigation.According to Chief of Team of Tetra Tech DPK, Dr. Alfred Fofie, the training was intended to build or enhance the capacities of LNP officers to adequately respond to community security concern through improve investigative skills, and forming synergies to addressing community security concern and other related crimes as it relates to issues that could threaten the fragile peace we now enjoy at both local and national level.  The workshop held under the topic, “Enhancing Law Enforcers’ Responsiveness to Community Security Concern through Improved Investigation Skills.”The workshop was implemented by Tetra Tech DPK and funded by the U.S. Department of State (INL). The Chief Facilitator of training William Thompson told the Observer that the training covered topics such as Crime Scene Management, Crime Scene Investigation, Collection and Packaging of Evidence at Crime Scene, Lifting of Print and Preservation of Evidence at the Crime Scene.Tetra Tech DPK Mitigating Land Dispute Program is covering two counties (Lofa and Nimba) in its parlor phase in Liberia since 2012.Tetra Tech DPK had conducted several training for law enforcement officers including Drug Enforcement Agency, Immigration officers, as well as Liberia National Police.At the same time, a group expert from the United States of America, who visited Ganta had praised the activities of Tetra Tech in both Nimba and Lofa counties.“I am very pleased with the progress that Tetra Tech DPK has made, implementing the Mitigating Local Disputes in Liberia (MLDL) project.
