Assassin’s Creed: Rogue is an interesting entry in the franchise. Not only was it released alongside Assassin’s Creed: Unity, but it also came out on last-gen systems. Due to it being exclusive to the PS3 and Xbox 360 — not to mention all the flak Unity got for being a bug-filled mess — most people overlooked Rogue. This is a shame considering how the game was actually good. Now, Ubisoft is giving the title a second lease on life with a shiny new remastered edition for PS4 and Xbox One.Assassin’s Creed: Rogue Remastered features higher-resolution textures and shadows, improved environmental rendering, and new visual effects, according to Ubisoft. Expect all of the original DLC content and expansions, including two bonus missions as well as the weapons, outfits, and customization items in the Master Templar and Explorer packs. As far as new additions go, Assassin’s Creed: Origins gets a shout-out with the inclusion of Bayek’s legacy outfit. As expected, Assassin’s Creed: Rogue Remastered runs in 4K on the PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X.There are two key factors that made Assassin’s Creed: Rogue stand out. The first is its story, which focuses on the Templar side of the Assassin-Templar war. The series has only ever shown the Assassin side of the conflict so getting to play as the “bad guy” was certainly a nice change of pace. The other neat thing is how much the game focused on naval exploration and combat. Naval warfare was a huge feature from Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag and Rogue took it to a whole other level.AdChoices广告Given how Assassin’s Creed‘s popularity has risen thanks to the excellent Assassin’s Creed: Origins, now is certainly a great time to re-release Assassin’s Creed: Rogue by way of a remaster. I actually missed out on this one originally, though I know it is an exceptional title. I’m certainly looking forward to playing this one when it drops on PS4 and Xbox One on March 20.
