Joseph to be inducted into Roughrider Plaza of Honour

first_imgThe New Iberia native was selected as the CFL’s Most Outstanding Player in 2007 as well as being named a CFL and West Division All-Star that same year. “I am very humbled to be inducted into the Saskatchewan Roughrider’s Plaza of Honour,” said Joseph who played for McNeese from 1992-95, earning All-Southland Conference honors twice, the 1992 SLC Freshman of the Year, and the 1995 Louisiana Offensive Player of the Year.”There are many great players in the Plaza of Honour and I am very excited to join those great men as a member of the 2019 class. I have to give thanks to God, my coaches, teammates and fans of the Saskatchewan Roughriders.”My wife and I were so excited when I received the call about my induction. I know the Saskatchewan Roughriders hold this Honour to a high standard therefore I have to say thank you to the Plaza Committee for my induction.”I also need to say thank you to all of the coaches and teammates that have impacted my career from Little League football, high school, McNeese and the NFL. Story by by Matthew Bonnette, McNeese Sports Information DirectorLAKE CHARLES, La. – Former McNeese quarterback standout and 2006 Hall of Fame inductee Kerry Joseph will be inducted into the Saskatchewan Roughrider Plaza of Honour (Hall of Fame), the organization announced on Sunday. In addition to joining the McNeese Sports Hall of Fame in 2006, Joseph was a 2012 inductee into the Southland Conference Hall of Honor. Joseph currently serves as an assistant coach on the Southeastern Louisiana football staff. The induction ceremony is scheduled for Aug. 22 at Mosaic Stadium. Joseph played for the Roughriders from 2006-07 and again in 2014, leading his team to the CFL Grey Cup in 2007. The Plaza of Honour has inducted individuals who have made major contributions to the proud tradition of the Saskatchewan Roughrider Football Club. The event is known as one of Saskatchewan’s most prestigious sports receptions. He played in 40 games and racked up 8,097 passing yards which ranks ninth in franchise history, to go along with 50 touchdown passes.
