49ers’ Kendrick Bourne rises with ‘legendary’ push from Kwon Alexander

first_imgSANTA CLARA — Kendrick Bourne is the first 49ers teammate Kwon Alexander met when he arrived in March’s free agency. That first impression: Alexander knew he found a kindred spirit, and a star-in-the-making to mentor.“He has the same energy I have and we’ve been tight since then,” Alexander said. “He’s getting better and better, and I’m happy for him. He’s doing great. He’s doing legendary.”That word legendary is Alexander’s go-to in any interview, a personalized stamp that carried over to …last_img

Opera 10: 10 Million Downloads in First Week

first_imgOpera today announced that the latest version of its browser, Opera 10, was downloaded 10 million times during the first week after its release. On its first day of release, Opera registered around 2 million downloads, up from 580,000 when the company released Opera 9 in 2006. Opera 10 launched to generally positive reviews and the company is already working on the next iteration of Opera 10, which will includeOpera Unite, a web server and a number of web services that users will host on their own desktops.Firefox, in comparison, saw about 5 million downloads during the first 24 hours after the release of Firefox 3.5 and 20 million after the first week.Looking at StatCounter‘s browser data, it doesn’t look like this release had real any influence on Opera’s global market share yet, but in Europe, Opera went from around 6.5% on September 1st to 7.5% today, and in the US, Opera went from 0.65% to 8%. In September 2008, Opera was hovering around 0.5% in the US, so the company has definitely seen some nice growth over the last year, even though in September 2008, it was also immediately overtaken by the newly released first beta of Google Chrome.Source: StatCounter Global Stats – Browser Market Share Related Posts frederic lardinois A Web Developer’s New Best Friend is the AI Wai… Why Tech Companies Need Simpler Terms of Servic…center_img 8 Best WordPress Hosting Solutions on the Market Top Reasons to Go With Managed WordPress Hosting Tags:#Browsers#news#web last_img read more

Modi’s ‘badbola’ remark triggers talk of wrinkle in saffron alliance

first_imgWhile the alliance between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena appears to have been finalised, statements made by leaders of both parties — including Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s remark on the Ram temple on Thursday — have ignited speculation that all is not well in the partnership. The fact that Mr. Modi made no direct mention of the Sena in his rally in Nashik, but made a comment about a badbola (loudmouth) leader from Maharashtra who wouldn’t stop talking about the Ram temple, raised eyebrows. The only leader from Maharashtra who has recently been talking about the Ram temple and even visited Ayodhya is Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray. Both parties have also locked horns over the Metro car shed in Aarey colony. While Yuva Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray has opposed the proposed removal of trees for the car shed, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has termed the youth leader ‘misinformed.’ Moreover, Mr. Fadnavis recently also indicated that the government could reconsider the decision to scrap the oil refinery project at Nanar in Konkan, which was key to forging the BJP-Sena alliance before the Lok Sabha election. Sena leader and State Transport Minister Divakar Raote had on Wednesday demanded that the BJP and Sena contest an equal number of seats in the Assembly polls, failing which the alliance was unlikely. Sena’s Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut supported the statement. In response, BJP leader Girish Mahajan said, “The alliance is bound to happen. Those who have no say in the seat-sharing talks must not comment on the issue.” Mr. Mahajan expressed confidence that issues in the seat-sharing arrangement will be resolved within two to three days. BJP president Amit Shah will be in Mumbai on Sunday to address a public rally on the abrogation of Article 370. According to sources, during his visit, the BJP is likely to take a final call on the alliance with Sena.last_img read more
